FAQs

Who is the target audience for the modules?

  2. Download and install plug-ins, as needed.
  3. Click the "Modules" button on the left-hand side of the screen and then click the link to one of the presentations in Module 1. Note: The modules are meant to be completed in order.
  4. Once you have selected a module, review the introduction and objectives, view the audio/slide presentation, review the resources, and complete the evaluation.

Do I need to register to take a module?

Will I be able to ask questions about module content?

If you have a question about module content, please contact PREVENT project staff.

What are the minimum technical requirements for completing the modules?

Click the "Technical Requirements" button on the left-hand side of the screen to see a list of the minimum technical requirements.

What if I don't have the proper equipment to complete the modules?

If your equipment doesn't meet the minimum technical requirements, you may experience technical problems and longer wait times for course materials to load, resulting in a very frustrating experience for you. If you are not sure that your equipment meets the minimum technical requirements, we recommend that you test your equipment first by taking the Online Skills Test. Note: You do not need to send us a confirmation email informing us that you have completed the Online Skills Test.

Can I complete the modules in a public place such as a library or computer lab in a community college?

It depends. First, some of the modules include audio or video and there may be restrictions on accessing this type of media in a public place. If allowed, the use of headphones may be a way to deal with this issue. Second, the equipment may not have the plug-ins (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader, Flash/Shockwave Player) you will need to access some of the materials. Most of the time you are not allowed to download or install anything to these computers.

What should I do if I experience technical problems?

For a problem or question related to using the Macromedia Flash player (to view an audio/slide presentation) or using Acrobat Reader (to access a PDF document), refer to the resources linked in the table below.

If after reviewing the recommended resources, you still can't find an answer to your technical problem, email PREVENT tech support staff. Before emailing, please review What kinds of information should I provide when reporting technical problems?
