The 2008 PREVENT Child Maltreatment Institute: Enhancing Leadership for Child Maltreatment Prevention

Instructors

A diverse team of instructors and facilitators will bring a wealth of experience in teaching these skills and concepts. The PREVENT Project Investigators will guide the development of the Institute curricula (see their bios on the About Us/Staff page of the PREVENT website). The insturctional team is a team of national leaders in public health and/or violence prevention.

Coaches

Coaches will work with teams during and after the Institute and serve as "learning facilitators." They are individuals with practical experience applying the concepts and the skills covered in the Institute and will serve as supportive "troubleshooters." Through a series of scheduled phone calls from April through October, a coach will work with your team to help you find answers to the questions that arise and review your action learning documents as you work to apply the skills and concepts after the Institute.

Your team (with all team members) is required to have a monthly (1 hour) call with your coach. This time is valuable to share project progress and seek feedback from the coach. It is also necessary for all team members to hand in reports and materials (see above) in a timely manner according to the PREVENT timeline. It is important that all team members are completely on board with the requirements of this program in order for your success as well as the success of PREVENT.
